Driven by an acute awareness of the financial difficulties facing our brethren, IPF volunteers dedicate vast amounts of time and energy to this worthy cause, primarily during the Purim season. Our continued success is due to the strong positive response of donors far and near, their enthusiasm encourages us to strive towards greater goals.
The Israel Purim Fund is truly a unique tzedaka organization. The spontaneous initiative of several Mesivta of Long Beach Students in the year 1970, has evolved into a highly professional organization, dedicated to providing basic Yom Tov necessities for impoverished families in Israel. In past campaigns, we have succeeded beyond our wildest dreams, raising over a half a million dollars
As IPF is staffed exclusively by volunteers and headquartered in the Mesivta, our overhead expenses are relatively low, allowing more than 93% of contributions to be forwarded directly to Eretz Yisroel. A trusted emissary of our Rosh HaYeshiva is charged with distributing the funds to select community leaders, men renowned for their integrity and intimate knowledge of the beneficiaries and their unfortunate situations. IPF’s longstanding policy is to allocate a fixed sum to each family, thereby providing a meaningful and significant enhancement to their Simchas Yom Tov. This year we aim to raise $900,000, to provide $500 per family in the weeks before Pesach, and an additional $400 before Sukkos, totaling to $900 per family. On behalf of the hundreds of families who can’t make Yom Tov on their own, we urge you to contribute generously, as every donation makes a profound difference and is greatly appreciated. These families are depending on IPF, and IPF is depending on you.
